Strategies-By-Design was founded to bring the skills of a chief marketing officer and the resources of an internal marketing department -- on an outsourced basis -- to small to mid-sized businesses that do not have a fully-staffed internal marketing function.   From strategy development to marketing message formulation through tactic implementation, Strategies-By-Design can help you every step of the way – or just provide a supportive hand in those areas where you need it most.  

 

From our beginning as a marketing consulting firm, we have expanded our focus to include communications training and coaching.  Regardless of what we are selling or who we are selling too, we must have an effective message and it must be delivered in a way that our audience will “hear” it.   Whether you want to improve communications with prospective customers on a mass basis or employees on a one-to-one basis Strategies-By-Design can help you communicate for success.

 About the Founder 

                                                                     

Julie Chance, founder and president of Strategies-By-Design has over 20 years of professional experience in marketing, management, operations and training.  She has taught marketing courses at two Texas Universities and has trained hundreds of professionals in sales, strategic marketing planning, customer relations, communication, leadership, and team management concepts.  In working with clients, Julie brings to the table not only her expertise in analysis, planning, marketing and sales, but also her acute understanding of human behavior and interaction.   

 

It is Julie’s passionate belief that building a strong bottom line starts with a strong foundation.  Therefore, a key element of her work is assisting clients in clarifying their goals, and developing and implementing specific action plans to reach those goals. 

 

Julie is a frequent speaker and has spoken on strategic marketing, sales, communication and leadership to numerous groups including The Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development, the Entrepreneur Expo, NAWBO, eWomenNetwork, various Chamber of Commerce’s and the Small Business Development Center.  Julie’s articles on marketing have been published internationally and her Map A Path to Success marketing tips newsletter is read by subscribers from around the world.

 

Julie received her Master of Business Administration degree at the University of Texas at Austin with an emphasis in Marketing Management and Marketing Research.  She completed her bachelor’s degree in business administration with an emphasis in marketing at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge.

 

Most recently, Julie worked for Horizon Health, a DFW Top 100 company.  During her tenure with the company she served in a variety of positions including Regional Director of Marketing, Regional Director of Operations and Vice President of Consulting.  Over a three year period of time, after being charged with regaining a marketing focus within the division, strategies and plans she developed and implemented, resulted in an increase in “same program” performance of over 30%.

 

When Julie is not helping clients Map A Path to Success, she and her golden retriever Molson visit nursing homes, assisted living facilities and Ronald McDonald House.  Molson is registered as a therapy dog through Therapy Dogs, Inc.  Julie and Molson are founding members of Heart of Texas Therapy Dogs and Julie serves on the board of directors for the group.
