11 Marketing “Must Haves”

1. We have a written profile of our Ideal Client including the challenges, issues, problems, wants and needs they face. And we know the language they use to describe these problems, issues, wants, needs, etc.
2. We have a product package that meets the needs of our Ideal Client and that differentiates us from our competition.
3. We have a marketing message that captures the attention of our Ideal Customer and that we use consistently.
4. Our materials have a consistent look and feel in terms of color(s) used, type fonts, layout, etc.
5. We have vehicles such as a website, newsletter, articles our staff has authored, presentations, advertising campaigns, etc. to reach our Ideal Client.
6. We have an up-to-date database of potential prospects, referral sources and customers.
7. We have a systematic way to feed our database – a way to capture contact information for prospects, referral sources, and customers.
8. We have a Continuous Communication program that puts our name and/or the name of our staff members in front of our prospects, referral sources, and customers at least once a month.
9. We have an up-to-date written marketing action plan.
10. We have a marketing budget or a designated amount of money that we spend on marketing each month.
11. We make it easy for clients to purchase by providing them multiple ways to purchase (i.e. on-line, mail, fax), multiple payment options, business hours that are convenient for them, accessible and easy-to-find locations, etc.
