Assess Your Marketing Message

1. You use headlines in your promotional materials that captures the attention of your target market and that clearly defines who you are talking to.
2. Your marketing message identifies the problems, symptoms, issues, needs and wants of your target market. Your promotional materials start with where they are and then move them to the action you want them to take.
3. Your promotional materials provide a brief description of the product outlining features of your product and service that matter to the target market you are communicating with.
4. Your materials clearly describe the benefit and the value that the customer will derive from purchasing your product or service (or from taking the action you want them to take). And these benefits are pertinent to the customer group you are selling to.
5. Your message includes testimonials, case studies, money-back guarantees, etc. to give it credibility.
6. Your materials include a strong call-to-action specifically stating the action you want the recipient of your message to take, for example, “Pick-up the phone now and call 111-222-3333 to register” .
